Learning the Korean language became a hobby of mine when I became interested in the Korean culture after watching many Korean drama. I initially found it easy to learn so I was encouraged more to really learn it. Content of this section includes the stuff I have learned so far. Happy learning!

The Korean alphabet is called Hangeul (한글). It consists of 40 letters (jamo) - 21 vowels and 19 consonants. 24 letters are basic and the others are compounds of these basic letters.
These are the 24 basic letters.

* The apostrophe (') means that the letter is aspirated, i.e. a sharp sound.
The vowels and consonants are combined to form syllable blocks. For example, to write Hangeul:
ㅎ(h) + ㅏ(a) + ㄴ(n) = 한 (han)
ㄱ(g) + ㅡ(eu) + ㄹ(l) = 글 (geul)
Combining these two characters, you have 한글 (Hangeul).
